Antique Shop in Marion December 2017

Armand Marseille

I just completed the restoration of two more Victorian Dolls, which I think are probably Armand Marseille.  I added arms and legs and new hair , plus a new set of clothes. It can be a messy business.  These are done.  I have about thirty more waiting patiently hidden upstairs.

Spooners Spoon Holders

I"m up to 84 spooners, or spoon holders.  The Victorians put them on the table and put their silver in them.  I have some in color, but most are EAPG ( Early American Pressed Glass) .  An auction company was selling a lifetime collection which added a great number of them to my small collection.  I think a lot of people think they are vases but size and shape make the distinction.

Colonial Oil on Canvas of the Lady in Blue

I won this lady yesterday from an on line auction out of Canaan, Connecticut.  From the large hair and dress she appears to be colonial, pre 1820 at least. She is 20 x 24 and unframed. The auctioneer has made fun of me in the past for buying his paintings of ugly women, but I don't think she looks too bad. I already have a gold frame that might suit her.

Real Old South Antiques for sale in Marion, Alabama

Here are some photographs of my booths in Marion, Alabama. They are somewhat dark, perhaps repetitive, and may not show the entire piece, but they will give the reader some idea of the quality things I have for sale.  Come see for yourself in person, as we are on Main Street and open Thursday, Friday , and Saturday from 10 to 5, and Sunday from 12 to 4.  Last week I added a pier/petticoat table and a 30"x30" Empire center white marble top table.  I will add pictures of them later this week.
