Spring 2019 has arrived ! Joe's tulip tree is in bloom

Spring officially arrives at Wilson's Hill Farm when Joe's tulip tree blooms. He planted it 20 years ago.  He's now in Denver but the tulip tree is doing fine here in Alabama .

A pink lusterware vase in the kitchen window holds the first buds of the tulip tree.

  1. Oh....that looks amazing! I don’t believe I have ever seen one.... Probably doesn’t grow up this way... We are still buried in snow, despite almost a week of day-time above freezing temps. (It’s been a rough winter....). Hope all is well down south there.... Happy FriYay! ~Robin~

  2. Sorry you had such a rough winter. Just got back from Biloxi , Mississippi on the coast. It's in the 60's here most of the day. Cutting grass already.

  3. I guess my comment didn't make it . So will leave another one.
The pink luster pitcher is sweet. Is that the one that was lost in the mail once?
Our tulips here will soon be drown with all the rain, especially the high river from snow melting down from up north, Clarksville Mo will get hit hard.
Glad you have nice things blooming already

  4. Can you tell us about the history of this piece of pink lustreware?

  5. I purchased it at an on-line auction. I have since then actually seen another just like it. I buy what I can, but of couse one can buy 40 pieces of lusterware on-line and the shipping will be $150, so that must be considered. I have a flat bottom cupboard full so I probably have enough but won't pass up any good deals when an auction comes up and no one else seems to know what it is !
