Bama Planter

It is snowing right now in Central Alabama. Interstate 65 is closed in our county. Everything closing or is closed. It will be coming down all day.  I last saw something like this in 1993.  Again, I can handle SNOW for about 2 days every 10 years. That's about it.  View from my library window.  It is 1/2 foot so far and will come down according to Birmingham TV  for six more hours.  View from the front porch. View of the back yard.  The temp will not get over 34 and will go back to the 20's tonight so ice will cover the roads. That's when the 100's of accidents on the road begin as people here can't deal with it and think they can drive on ice. 

This house is for sale in Farina, Illinois,   It is in the header currently in one of my favorite sites, Old House Dreams.  I don't know the owner and have no stake in it.  It is one of the most perfect PRIMITIVE houses I have ever seen. I love everything about. it.  If I were there, I would buy it TODAY.  If it were for sale here in ALABAMA , I would buy it NOW. This is MY STYLE OF LIVING !!!!  This is TASHA TUDOR and the magazine SIMPLE LIFE all in one !!!  Some fantastic primitive pieces are in every room.  The owners found the stairs and brought them in.  Their love was a labor of love with full attention to detail.  I could live in an Old South Empire-filled, marble top -filled house also, but if I had to choose that style or this one , I don't think I could choose !  

Who says I don't like Christmas, even though I dress as Scrooge at the shops?  I bought five lots of red glassware this morning,  those being toothpick holders and spooners.  Above are seven toothpick holders.  Here are six  spooners or spoon holders.  Six more spooners.  A lot of seven spooners.  I have 85 spooners now. Today's purchases should put me over 100.  Eight little toothpick holders.   All will look great on a white marble top table displayed en masse .
