The Lillian Moore House in Marion, Alabama, has been fully restored. It sits at the end of Main Street across from the Methodist Church and is surrounded by an original iron Victorian fence. There is also a large garage/workroom, and a primitive one room building once used as a servant's quarters. The house features at least five bedrooms, five bathrooms ( all restored and functioning), kitchen, laundry room, dining room, and matching grand parlors. The house was a bed and breakfast for a few years as well as an event center. There are pocket doors and jib windows. My friends who own the house and I held a sale there a few days ago and we have several very nice quality pieces still for sale.
This Renaissance Revival bed is a beauty. I sold two jacquard coverlets but one remains on the bed. I have 12 more at home. The desk is birdseye maple and is fully functional with a key. |
I shot this photo in the hallway. The stairs are fully restored. The "sleepy hollow" chairs are matching. |
This is the magnificent original decor in the main hallway entrance. |
I made a photo of the jib windows to show how elegant the house was. They open to the porch which runs the front and one side of the house. |
This shows some of the other pieces sitting in the dining room. The large open cupboard against the wall is not old. |
This is a very nice game table and two Renaissance Revival chairs in blue. |
The kitchen is fully restored. All of the bathrooms as well as the kitchen feature the black/white tiles. |
I love opening and closing the pocket doors. |
A view from the men's parlor looking to the entry hall. |
This is the bureau which matches the Renaissance Revival bed. |
The upper part of the stairway. To the left is the landing's bathroom. The stairs continue up to a large central hall and four bedrooms. |
All of the bathrooms look something like this one. |
All are new, clean, and functioning. |
Oh wow, gorgeous!!
