So I kept some of the dough bowls in the corner cupboard that has no corner to put it in, but I didn't like the ones on top and all around. |
I added a few extra butter molds to fill the corners. |
The leather chairs are deep green and deep blue and are the most comfortable chairs I've ever had. That's a 1780 dough box sitting between them. |
Old Paris vases on a colonial dough box. I like contrasts such as that. |
The girandoles are really nice, but everyone knows I love King's Rose and Queen's Rose porcelain. |
Another weakness is Armand Marseille dolls. |
Their porcelain rosy cheeks show up more in photographs. All are pre 1920. |
My excuse is, dolls prevent people from sitting in the antique chairs. ha |
The blue porcelain inspires me to have a "blue room" one day. |
I found the small ones at a different auction from the large center one. |
This gothic brass/bronze stuff is very Addams family. I love it. |
See the gothic things behind the girandoles behind the King's Rose? |
Old Paris sitting high on a corner cupboard. |
Butter dishes and milk pitchers on a stepback cupboard. |
Larger sized mortars and pestles on a chestnut wall cupboard. |
The best George Washington with an eagle frame circa 1850. |
Milk pitchers. The one in front is sitting in a redware milk bowl used to cool the milk on the farm. |
Butter molds. |
My weakness for Old Paris. I think I have a lot of weaknesses. |
More Old Paris and some pink lusters. |
Girandoles and some Staffordshire dogs. |
Pink lusterware / lustreware in a flat -bottom open cupboard from Alabama. |
I turned the flash up for this one. |
What's hidden behind the corner cupboard? |
Blue Staffordshire ! |
Five sets of red lusters flank the oil portrait of Evalina O'Neal Shaw. |
Corner cupboard full of spoon holders from the 1880/1900 era. Not many know about these or collect them anymore. |
"Mr. Scrooge's Bed" Pull the curtains and you can sleep well day or night ! |
So what's hidden inside the Alabama pegged plantation corner cupboard? |
Staffordshire sugar bowls on top and stoneware on the bottom. |
Silhouettes and miniature paintings from the days before photography. |
My oldest piece of pottery. |
Made in North Carolina by Jacob Albright sometime before 1800. |
And what's inside the stepback cupboard? |
OH MY GOODNESS, what a midnight tour!! Loved peeking in your cupboards! I see we have a lot of the same weaknesses, but you just have more weakness then I do! lol You don't mess around when it comes to collections!!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love the girandoles, the lusters, the Old Paris, and pink luster dinnerware! And that old piece of pottery is a treasure, wow! Take care, and happy Holy Week to you!
